Filip Black’s visual poetics are characterized by a limited range of colors, Cyrillic type, calligraphy, and the human form. These themes are combined into large prints that feature different juxtaposed techniques; a combination of digital and traditional.
Filip Black’s visual poetics are characterized by a limited range of colors, Cyrillic type, calligraphy, and the human form. These themes are combined into large prints that feature different juxtaposed techniques; a combination of digital and traditional. The artist reproduces familiar visual signs, such as typography and automatic drawing, combining them with the human figure in motion and thereby adding to the structure of these symbols and creating new conceptually layered pieces. The color scheme comes from his graphic design background. The shapes are a savage almost tribal representation of a subconscious ebb and flow. Followed by a passion for boxing they mimic war symbols.
